Hey, I've been reading all your reviews, wonderful! I've actually been working on a project where I DO read the book and then watch the movie for all of the Disney's, including the TV movies. So I read the book, watch the movie, then read your review. It's taking some time haha. Anyways, your not missing out much on this book, there are high praise reviews online for it but I found it a dry slog personally. The book also takes place in summer, the Christmas it is referring to is the name of the artist whose carvings hide the treasure in the mansion, or something like that. "The famous artist Christmas' carving inside of the candleshoe manor."
Nice review, thank you. I need to watch this again, it has been a while, but I remember enjoying it at the time it was released. Since you made an allusion to Anastasia, might be worth mentioning that Helen Hayes was in the 1956 film Anastasia (as the Empress) with Ingrid Bergman and Yul Brynner.

A-ha! Thank you for clarifying that! Gee, the Christmas thing isn't misleading at all.
Good luck with your project, which actually sounds even more daunting than this one!
