When I first transferred Disney Plus-Or-Minus over to Substack, I wasn’t entirely sure how well it would work. I’m not a complete idiot when it comes to technical stuff but having to learn an entirely new platform is never fun. As it turned out, I needn’t have worried. Substack’s interface has been a breeze and the level of engagement with readers has increased significantly. A couple of years into this experiment, it’s safe to say that D± will be sticking around here at The Stack (people do just call it “The Stack”, right? No?).
However, there was one feature of the old iteration that I missed when I moved over here. The old site offered the ability to easily move from one post to either the next one or the previous post. This meant that, if you so desired, you could start anywhere and merrily click your way through the column’s entire history. You can’t really do that here. I include links to past columns whenever I reference an older film but what if you’re interested in something specific? What if you don’t know what you’re interested in until you see it? Substack doesn’t make it easy to find older posts. That’s fine if you’re primarily writing about current events but a problem for historical projects like this with a large back catalog.
To make things easier on new subscribers (welcome, by the way!), not to mention yours truly when I’m trying to put these things together, I thought it might be nice to have a Table of Contents page. From here, you can explore Disney’s back pages to your heart’s content. As a reminder, the Touchstone Plus-Or-Minus entries are behind a paywall where, for a mere $5 a month, you’ll get access to all past, present and future Touchstone and Hollywood Pictures. Of course, you still can’t hop from one column to the next but at least now there’ll be a main hub to take you where you want to go.
Ideally, this page will be pinned to this column’s Substack home page for easy access. It will, of course, be updated as new columns are posted. Wherever you decide to start, I hope you enjoy your journey through Disney Plus-Or-Minus.
